A 25-year-old woman died in a rear-end crash on Hwy. 13 in Burnsville on Monday.
The Minnesota State Patrol crash report says the fatal accident happened on northbound Hwy. 13 near Dakota County Rd. 11 around 3:30 p.m.
A 2015 Toyota RAV4 was traveling in the right lane when it ran into the back of a box truck that had just began accelerating after being stopped at a red light.
Shukri Yusuf Mohamed, 25, of Burnsville, was driving the RAV4 and did not survive. The crash report says she was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver and passenger in the box truck were not injured.
According to the Minnesota Department of Traffic Safety, there have been 54 deaths to date on Minnesota roads. There were 41 fatalities on state roads at the same time last year.
