A cyclist is expected to survive after receiving “extremely critical injuries” from a crash involving a commercial food truck in downtown Minneapolis, according to Minneapolis police spokesperson John Elder.
Elder says the crash happened around 4:45 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of S 2nd Street and 3rd Avenue South.
The U.S. Foods truck and the cyclist were heading north on 3rd Avenue when the truck turned right onto 2nd Street, hitting the cyclist. The bicycle was crushed under a wheel on the truck’s front passenger side.
