Bus-tractor crash hospitalizes several in Jackson County

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at approximately 7:13 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Jackson County 34 and Minnesota 86, according to a press release issued Tuesday morning by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrived at the scene and learned that a party bus owned by Parks Marina from Okoboji, Iowa and an International 1086 tractor had been involved in the accident, the press release states. The tractor sustained major damage throughout. The bus sustained major damage to the front passenger side.

Multiple individuals were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries, the Tuesday press release added. Names of those individuals have not been released.

According to Tuesday’s press release, the driver of the bus indicated that the bus was traveling eastbound on Jackson County 34 when the tractor came out from a driveway, where the two then collided. The accident remains under investigation.

The Lakefield Fire Department, Lakefield Police Department and Minnesota State Patrol assisted at the scene, according to an initial sheriff’s office press release issued Monday.
